  7. Use pacemakers in the setting of a cardiac arrest or profound shock.
  8. Manage respiratory arrest.
  9. Differentiate between various acute coronary syndromes and how to treat them.
  10. Manage patients in cardiac arrest due to special circumstances (e.g., pregnancy, poisoning, hypothermia, and hyperthermia).
  11. Lead an effective resuscitation.
  12. Practice ethical resuscitation—when to resuscitate and when not to resuscitate.
  13. Initiate appropriate post-arrest care.
  14. Provide support for staff and families during, and after, resuscitation while appropriately navigating any cultural or linguistic issues.

Target Audience

This activity is geared to meet the educational requirements of Internists, Cardiologists, Emergency Medicine Physicians (in training), Nurses, Paramedics, Anesthesiologists, Family Physicians, Critical Care Physicians, and anyone else responsible for resuscitation of an unstable patient.

Instructions for participation

Each participant must watch all the video lessons, successfully pass all quizzes of this activity with a grade of 70% or higher and complete a post-evaluation form. Once completed, your certificate will be made available immediately for download. If you receive a score of 69% or less, you may retake the quiz until successful.
