Desired Outcomes

  1. Define ICDs, differentiate them from pacemakers and identify patients who need them.
  2. Interpret device electrograms and detect arrhythmias.
  3. Identify the most common discriminators, or tools, that ICDs use to determine the type of arrhythmia.
  4. Tailor ICD settings to provide treatment for abnormal rhythm.
  5. Troubleshoot the most common ICD issues.
  6. Devise an appropriate treatment plan and answer the most common questions that ICD patients have.

This activity is geared to meet the educational requirements of Non-Interventional Cardiologists, Internists, Internal Medicine, Subspecialists (e.g., Nephrologists, Endocrinologists, etc.), Surgeons, and General Practitioners.

Each participant must watch all the video lessons, successfully pass all quizzes of this activity with a grade of 70% or higher and complete a post-evaluation form. Once completed, your certificate will be made available immediately for download.If you receive a score of 69% or less, you may retake the quiz until successful.
